[PT] IMISCOE: A Rede Europeia de Excelência IMISCOE (Migrações Internacionais, Integração e Coesão Social) foi recentemente criada por 19 centros e institutos europeus de investigação. Esta rede reúne cerca de 300 especialistas nesta área, provenientes de diversas disciplinas distintas e complementares. Com base nos seus conhecimentos e na sua vasta experiência de investigação comparada a nível internacional, visa-se assim implementar um programa de investigação integrado, multidisciplinar, comparado e rigoroso, cujo ênfase incidirá particularmente sobre as particularidades do(s) caso(s) europeu(s).

A actividade da rede IMISCOE está organizada em 9 clusters de investigação: 1. Migrações internacionais e sua regulação; 2. Causas e consequências: migrações e desenvolvimento; 3. Estatuto legal, cidadania e integração política; 4. Mercado de trabalho, empreendedorismo e integração económica; 5. Integração e mobilidade social: educação, habitação e saúde; 6. Diversidade linguística, cultural e religiosa e políticas nesse domínio; 7. Relações interétnicas, identidade, representações e discriminação; 8. Género, grupos etários e gerações; 9. Políticas nacionais e municipais/urbanas na área da imigração e integração.

A Profª Lucinda Fonseca e o Prof. Jorge Malheiros são os coordenadores do Cluster nº 5 'Integração e mobilidade social: educação, habitação e saúde'.

[EN] IMISCOE: This year, nineteen European research institutes have established a Network of Excellence in the domain of International Migration, Integration and Social Cohesion (IMISCOE). The Network brings together some 300 highly qualified researchers. Based on their wide-ranging skills and experience in international comparative research, the institutes implement an integrated, multidisciplinary, rigorously comparative research programme, with Europe as its central focus.

The IMISCOE network is divided in nine research clusters: 1. International migration and its regulation; 2. Causes and consequences: migration and development; 3. Legal status, citizenship and political integration; 4. Work, entrepreneurship and economic integration; 5. Social integration and mobility: education, housing and health; 6. Linguistic, cultural and religious diversity and related policies; 7. Interethnic relations, identity, representation and discrimination; 8. Gender, age and generations; and 9. States and cities and their politics and policies relating to migration and integration.
