Ø Increase urban life quality by reducing factors of stress and risk
Ø Provide information for the reduction of local and global environmental impacts of cities, focusing on the reduction of pollutant emissions and energy consumption
Ø Contribute to increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of a city and reduce environmental inequalities between city districts with different social status
Ø Diffusion of results to several community groups and decision-makers:
- Urban planners and decision-makers, through the participation in national conferences on urban planning and urban design;
- Architects, namely through the “Ordem dos Arquitectos”;
- Graduation and Master students, who will probably be involved in tasks related to urban planning and urban design in their future profession;
- The scientific community, through the participation in Meetings and the submission of papers to national and international journals and paper presentation at international scientific meetings;
- The members of “Protecção Civil”, specifically the information concerning strong winds
- Construction of an internet site with online information about different aspects, such as information about strong winds probability and different conditions of mechanical and thermal comfort, based on meteorological equipment from this project.
