Resumo

"In 2001 the European Council agreed on a EU strategy for sustainable development (Gothenburg Strategy) in which environmental and social aims were combined with economic aims of the Lisbon Strategy, defined the year before. The two strategies were completed by a territorial dimension. In this context the main aims of the project are: To link the Lisbon and Gothenburg Strategies. To read them through the glasses of respectively a national (macro), a regional (meso) and a sub-regional (micro) territorial dimension. To measure the territorial capability to apply the Lisbon/Gothenburg Strategy at national, regional, sub-regional levels. To present general and specific policy recommendations with regard to Lisbon/Gothenburg accomplishment sectors, looking at co-operative transnational areas.
